Are you ready to begin your University studies with confidence? We’re excited to invite you to the VU Ready Bootcamp brought to you by SSAF FUNDING – an interactive on-campus program designed to help you transition smoothly into University life and set you up for success in your studies!  

    The Bootcamp consists of four 3-hour workshop sessions across Thursday 26th & Friday 27th July 2024 at the Footscray Park campus and a is free lunch provided for attendees! Attending all sessions and activities will set you up for success in the range of University academic skills, but you can also mix and match individual or multiple sessions to suit your needs and schedule. 

    Session Details:

    Thursday 25 July Friday 26 July 
    Morning workshop (9am - 12pm)

    Session 1: How to successfully transition to University life

    • Goal-setting 
    • Time Management
    • Wellbeing and mental health 
    • Tips & Tricks from current students on how to succeed in your studies

    Session 3: How to succeed in your studies 

    • Critical thinking
    • Reading & note-taking
    • Research skills
    • Understanding assignment rubrics
      Afternoon workshop (1pm - 4pm)

      Session 2: How to get the most out of your classes

      • Group Work
      • Presentation Skills
      • Public-Speaking 

        Session 4: How to write your first assignment 

        • What to expect from your first assignment & tips from current students 
        • Academic Writing
        • Referencing
        • Academic Integrity

        Register now to enhance your academic skills, discover useful resources and tips and build lasting connections with VU staff, student mentors and other students! Be quick as spots are limited! 

        NOTE: If you have a laptop and/or mobile please bring this along to the event. Limited numbers of loan laptops will also be available on the day so bringing your own is recommended.
