Vulture Sister Song
Event description
Combining dance, storytelling, music, and sculpture, Vulture Sister Song explores the bonds between humans and our more-than-human kin.
There is much to see and hear in this interdisciplinary performance, created and performed by Ellen Smith Ahern, Pete Dybdahl, Jacob Elias, Kate Elias, and Josina Guess. Gaze upon a herd of shapeshifting lanterns and dancing human bodies. Soak up the soundscape of folk music, rock lullabies, and storytelling. And come celebrate—with laughter and wonder—the possibilities of interdependence among species.
Audience members can also play a part in bringing the show to life during The Norway Music and Arts Festival on July 13 from 10 am - 4 pm by helping craft and create lanterns for the show made completely out of recycled materials.
Vulture Sister Song is funded in part by the New England States Touring program of the New England Foundation for the Arts, made possible with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts Regional Touring Program and the six New England state arts agencies.
