Are you a VU HDR student looking to learn some useful writing techniques? Perhaps you’re looking to book in dedicated time and space to smash out a good chunk of your writing? Or maybe you’re feeling isolated just want to meet other VU HDR Students.
VUPA are holding an in-person writing workshop for VU HDR students on Wednesday 12th November 2025 at Footscray Park, free of charge. The workshop will run from 10:00am until 1:00pm (inclusive of breaks) and includes morning tea, lunch and refreshments.
Registered participants will receive a writing goodie bag and be first in the know of some exciting upcoming events in the VUPA HDR space.
Come prepared with an idea about what your writing task for the day is that you can share with the group. We will then be breaking it down into ‘do-able’ elements to do some rough draft writing.
Participants will leave with:
The satisfaction of producing first draft writing to continue working with
Loosening up your writing process and hearing your ‘voice’ and ideas emerging
Strategies for stress-busting!
The support of working with other HDR students – and recognising that writing is both hard and extremely rewarding
NOTE: This workshop is open to postgraduate Higher Degree by Research students (PhD, Masters by Research) in any stage of their degree.
