Victoria University Student Union (VUSU) is offering 8 subsidised places for VU students to complete the nationally recognised:

TLILIC0003 – Licence to Operate a Forklift Truck

This is a 2-day, face-to-face training and assessment program delivered by Pinnacle Safety and Training (RTO 40496) at their purpose-built facility in Port Melbourne.

VUSU is heavily subsidising the cost of this training to make the opportunity more affordable for VU students.

🦺 What the training covers

The course covers:

• Assessing hazards and planning work

• Setting up and preparing a forklift

• Risk assessment and control measures

• Routine forklift equipment checks

• Safe forklift operation

• Manoeuvring around different routes

• Different types of lifts and loads

• Calculating load capacity

• Shutting down and securing the forklift

Pinnacle states that students who are deemed competent receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment.

⚠️ Important – Please Read Before Registering

To participate, you must:

• Be 18 years or older

• Be a VU student

• Provide valid photo identification

• Have suitable English, literacy and numeracy skills

• Bring safety boots, Wear long pants, Wear a high-vis shirt/vest

• Complete the required pre-course study and assessment questions

• Be prepared to complete review/study work outside the training hours if required.

📌 Important information about the forklift licence

This event covers forklift training and assessment (TLILIC0003).

Successful completion allows you to proceed with the application for the relevant High Risk Work Licence (LF). The actual HRW licence application is a separate process and any applicable WorkSafe Victoria licence fee is not included in the VUSU ticket price.

Please only register if you are able to attend both days – 3 and 4 October 2026.

After registration, VUSU will provide your details to Pinnacle Safety and Training so they can complete the required enrolment and pre-course requirements.
