WA Ethical Collective - Clothing Swap - Summer x Salt
Event description
Join us at Summer x Salt Markets this December to shop someone else’s wardrobe while staying conscious about the choices we make with our fashion. All the pieces have stories and we hope each item will be thoughtfully given away and provided a loving new home.
Swapping clothes and giving clothes a second life is more mindful and better for the planet than buying new clothes. As you browse through the clothing swap, we encourage you to think about your own personal style and the items that would fit well in your wardrobe.
All clothes will be inspected before being accepted into the swap. Please only bring items that are washed and in good condition, and that you would be comfortable giving to a friend, otherwise they will not be accepted.
Items will be swapped one-for-one. The number of pieces you bring will be the number of pieces you leave with. Maximum of 10 items. No accessories will be accepted.
When: Saturday 11th December 2021
Where: Summer x Salt Markets, Clarko Reserve Trigg
Time: Clothing dropoff from 9 - 9.20 am, 9.30 am start
Please arrive from 9 am to drop your clothes, there will be plenty to browse at the markets while we organise the clothes.
About WA Ethical Collective
We’re a not-for-profit charity based in Perth, WA, building a community of ethical brands and people who want to share conversations and knowledge about ethical practices. Primarily focusing on clothing, textiles and natural processes, we want to encourage a global reconnection with products, the way they are made, the materials they’re made with, and who they’re made by.
We believe greater respect can be found for our clothing when we acknowledge and understand the history of a garment’s production and how manufacturing practices can change and grow over time. We’re here to share that wisdom and learn from each other by simply asking questions and starting conversations.
As a community, we believe in supporting each other, empowering all makers, and honouring our Earth.
