Gymnastics Competition (*qualifying event)
Dates: Sunday 23 July 2023
Time: 10am to 1pm
Location: Gymnastics Centre,99 Loftus St, Leederville WA 6007
Cost: $20 (+ booking fee)

Competition details:
Special Olympics local competitions are for children and adults with intellectual disabilities and autism, who wish to compete against other athletes in their chosen sport, and qualify for Special Olympics' state and national competitions. They include:
- A high-quality competition, with multiple divisions for beginner, intermediate and advanced players
- Qualified judges and support officials
- Award presentations
- Performance results and feedback
Competition rules:
1. The competition will include 3 levels of competition for athletes to choose from. Each level will include 4 events. Athletes can choose to compete in up to 4 events in one level of competition only.
LEVEL A – Skill list designed for athletes who cannot stand and/or perform without the assistance of wheelchairs, walkers, or spotters.

• Parallel Bars
• Single Bar
LEVEL B – Skill list designed for athletes who can perform independently.

LEVEL C – Compulsory routines for athletes.

2. Attire - Gymnasts may wear a long sleeve, short sleeve, or sleeveless leotard or unitard of their choosing. Bare legs or footless tights (flesh color or the same color as the leotard) are permitted. Gymnasts may have bare feet or wear gymnastics slippers. Hair should be pulled back from the face and no jewelry is to the worn.

10:15am - Warm-up
10:45am – Women & Men Competition events
12:30pm - Award Presentations
Note: The final schedule will be included in the information pack sent out to all athletes prior to the day once all athlete registrations have been received.
Who can get involved?
- Athletes who are registered as 2023 Special Olympics members
- Athletes who train and/or compete with an existing gymnastics club or program
- Athletes who want to become eligible to compete in upcoming Special Olympics state and national competitions, including our upcoming 2023 State Games.
How to register:
To compete in the competition, athletes must register online via this page by Friday 14 July. Athletes register as an individual player, and teams will be determined on the day.
Before the day, all registered athletes will receive an information pack with further information on the event.
