WA Innovation and Sustainability Showcase
Event description
The WA Innovation and Sustainability Showcase will highlight how Western Australia, and its world class agriculture and food sector, is facing the challenges of carbon neutrality and net zero emissions, with a detailed look into the strategies WA producers and agribusinesses are using to meet growing global supply chain expectations. This will be a highly interactive session with opportunities to meet with producers and local tech providers.
After lunch, attendees are encouraged to stay on for the final panel discussion, as well as an exclusive opportunity to hear from National Farmers' Federation, who will be hosting a panel on all things sustainability and connectivity (see more on this after the Showcase Program outline below).

More on the National Farmers' Federation panel
Towards 2030, chatting all things sustainability and connectivity
Australian agriculture is setting course for $100 billion by 2030, but what does that mean for the region? This panel session is an opportunity to discuss what lies ahead but also share concerns and priorities direct with industry representatives. Whether it be biosecurity, sustainable agtech or connectivity – changes are coming thick and fast, we want to talk about what that means for WA farmers.
During the session you will hear from Justine Rowe, Head of Sustainability at Telstra; David ‘DJ’ Jochinke, President National Farmers’ Federation & Farmer from North West Victoria; Tony Mahar, CEO of National Farmers’ Federation; and Gabi Ceregra, Data Policy Manager, Farm Data Code.
Additional CSIRO side event
The CSIRO will also be hosting an event at the venue after lunch.
CSIRO AgriFood Tech Innovation Exchange
The CSIRO AgriFood Tech Innovation Exchange is a unique opportunity to explore how you can collaborate with CSIRO. In this free, interactive 3-hr session, scientists, SME’s and Start-ups, will discuss the latest tech innovations for agriculture and food. Internationally-recognised agrifood tech expert Sarah Nolet, co-founder of Tenacious Ventures, will set the scene for the interactive sessions where scientists and business will exchange ideas, knowledge and know-how to get a better understanding of the agrifood tech innovation pipeline. Knowledge transfer is most effective when researchers and SME’s develop productive working relationships. So don’t miss this opportunity. Join us at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel to start the conversation.
