We are delighted to present the 27th Annual WA Lee Equity Lecture in partnership with the TC Beirne School of Law at The University of Queensland.
The Honourable Chief Justice Helen Bowskill and Christine Castley OAM, Chair of Queensland Community Foundation Board of Governors look forward to welcoming you to this year's WA Lee Equity Lecture presented by the Honourable Justice Debra Mullins AO who will present "Trusts Disputes and Litigation under the Trusts Act 2025 (Qld) – Will the Changes Achieve the Aim of Modernising and Simplifying Trusts Law?" followed by networking drinks in the foyer.
The WA Lee Equity Lecture is held each year in honour of foremost equity and trusts academic and author, Honorary Professor WA "Tony" Lee. This prestigious series of lectures continues a long tradition of maintaining contemporary debate on matters of equitable jurisdiction, technique, principle and doctrine both in Australia and beyond. CPD points may be available for this lecture.
The lecture will be held in the Banco Court, Supreme Court of Queensland, George Street commencing at 5.30pm sharp. We recommend that you arrive from 5pm to clear security. ID is required.
Tickets are free of charge, but registration is essential.

Justice Debra Mullins AO holds the degrees of Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Laws with Honours and Master of Laws (Advanced) from the University of Queensland. In 2010 Justice Mullins received the honorary degree of Doctor of the University from Griffith University. After first being admitted as a solicitor in 1980, Justice Mullins was admitted as a barrister in 1984 and practised at the Bar in Queensland, predominantly in commercial, property and succession matters (becoming Senior Counsel for the State of Queensland in 1998), until her appointment in 2000 as a Judge of the Supreme Court of Queensland. Justice Mullins was appointed a Judge of Appeal in January 2020 and the President of the Court of Appeal in May 2022. Justice Mullins has been a trustee of the Sylvia & Charles Viertel Charitable Foundation since 2005.
