Event description

Edith Dircksey Cowan

Discover the remarkable story of Edith Dircksey Cowan - trailblazer, reformer, and the first woman elected to any Australian parliament - in this powerful concert experience blending live chamber music, narration, and visuals.

Part of PSO’s WA Stories series, the program features stunning music by female composers, many of whom created their art in defiance of societal norms, finally getting their moment to shine.

"Edith is the boss! Everyone should come along to learn the real reason she’s on our fifty-dollar note," says PSO Creative Director Fiona Campbell OAM.

An intimate, moving tribute to one of WA’s greatest icons.
