Event description

Join the WA WaterAid Committee for our Walk for Water walk event.

Why are we walking? There are 750 million people across the globe that do not have access to safe, reliable drinking water, sanitation and good hygiene. It is estimated that 200 million hours are spent every day by people fetching safe drinking water, this task mainly falls to women and girls. To conclude the Water Aid's annual Walk for Water week - join us for a loop around the Derbal Yerrigan (Swan River).

We will meet on the city side of the Matagarup bridge, walking just under three kms, through East Perth up to the Windan Bridge, over to Burswood and along the river back to the other side of Matagarup Bridge.

WaterAid deliver programs to help transform the lives of the most impoverished and marginalised communities in our neighbouring countries.

This a family friendly, community event and you are encourage to bring family and friends with you.

The event is free, organised by our volunteers but we ask you make a donation to the Walk for Water WA Team Page.
