Event description

Join Landcare volunteers and other NRM professionals on a cultural education and immersion day on country with Wadawurrung man Ash Skinner. Taking in three sites of strong cultural significance for the Wadawurrung Traditional Owners of the area, the event will focus on cultural identity, the markers of country, traditional ways of working on country and how to best work with Traditional Owners today.

A bus will transport participants between three sites over the day commencing at 10.00am at Eynesbury in Melbourne's West and including Little River and the You Yangs, finishing back at Eynesbury for 4.00pm.

The event is free and will be fully catered.  Funding support has been provided through the Waterways of the West Traditional Owner Engagement Project and is being delivered through Melbourne Water’s Community Capacity Building team.

Priority will be given to participants whose NRM work is on Wadawurrung country.

Please note there will be some walking involved and participants should have at least a moderate fitness level. Hazards such as snakes and fire ants may be encountered on the day – please ensure you wear appropriate closed footwear, long pants, take a hat, sunscreen and drinking water.
