Waddle the Mount - Charity walk around the Mauao

Get ready for the first annual 'Waddle the Mount'! A penguin-themed charity fun-run (or walk, or waddle!) around Mount Maunganui’s base track. 

Support the Kororā (little blue penguins) and the Western Bay Wildlife Trust. Penguin themes dress-up is encouraged, with spot prizes up for grabs and free activities for the whole family.

Starting on the grass outside the Mount Lifeguard service. Arrive, check in (to be entered in the spot prize draws) and show off your Penguin costume! 

This is not a speed race, but there maybe some spot prizes for those who "Waddle" the fastest.

When: Saturday 29th March, 9am

Where: Meet on the grass near the surf club, surf side of the Mount

Tickets: $10 minimum donation per Adult. Koha entry for Kids 16 and under. 

What to Expect:

• Dress Code: Fancy dress as penguins is encouraged! Get creative, whether you’re a stylish penguin, a sporty penguin, or a waddling pro.
• Activities: Enjoy a fun walk around the base track with fellow penguin lovers, compete for prizes like Best Dressed and Best Waddle, and share some laughs along the way.
• Community Spirit: Whether you're walking with friends, family, colleagues, or classmates, this is a great opportunity to bond and make memories while supporting a vital local cause.

All proceeds from tickets and donations will go to Western Bay Wildlife Trust, the guardians of the Mount's Little Blue Penguins
