Event description
Wagambirra – Walanbang Seven Valleys NAIDOC Ball
Gather on Wiradjuri Country and celebrate together at Wagambirra, Aptly named Wagambirra means to dance and play. The inaugural Walanbang Seven Valleys NAIDOC Ball will be a vibrant night of culture, tradition, and community spirit. We honour the NAIDOC 2025 theme: “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy,” celebrating the resilience passed down by our Elders, the bold vision of today’s communities, and the legacy our younger generations are building for the future.
Be moved by traditional dance with Jo Clancy and the Wagana Aboriginal Dancers, the powerful sounds of the Yadaki, and the heartfelt words of a local Indigenous poet.
Join Aunty Di in the weaving and yarning space.
Wear your best dancing shoes so you can hit the dance floor with local legends Bonniedoon. Dress code is smart casual, however the more sparkly the ball gowns and dapper the suits the better!
This event is uncatered but there will be a bar of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and snacks available for purchase.
Wagambirra is all about joy, connection, and fabulous fun—bringing Indigenous and non-Indigenous people together to honour the beauty, culture, and community of the Seven Valleys on Wiradjuri Country.
This is an 18+ event.
This National NAIDOC Week Activity is funded by the National Indigenous Australians Agency.
