Wage and Super Theft Workshop
Event description
Wage and Super Theft – What Employers Need to Know
From January 2025, wage theft became a criminal offence under national workplace laws — and employers need to understand exactly what that means.
In this practical online workshop, we’ll break down the new wage and superannuation underpayment laws introduced under the Closing Loopholes legislation. Designed for small and medium business owners and managers, this session will help you understand your obligations, identify risks in your payroll practices, and avoid costly compliance mistakes.
Even if unintentional, underpayments can result in serious legal and financial consequences. This is your opportunity to get ahead of the changes, ask questions, and put the right systems in place.
In this 60-minute session, we’ll cover:
- What constitutes wage and superannuation theft under the law
- When the new criminal offence provisions come into effect
- The difference between honest mistakes and criminal conduct
- How to review your current payroll and recordkeeping processes
- Tips to minimise risk and stay compliant
- Where to get help if you’re unsure
Funded by the Australian Government Department of Employment and Workplace Relations through the Productivity, Education and Training Fund grant program, this session will give employers the tools and knowledge to stay on the right side of the law.
