Electric Jump Blues - Workshop

Imagine the big band dance sounds of the ‘40s played with the ‘tweed amp on 10’ grit of an old-school Chicago blues combo! ‘Jump’ or ‘West Coast’ blues is an infectious, upbeat style fusing elements of swing jazz with raucous boogie blues.
Using the familiar framework of a 12-bar blues in A, we will discuss some of the approaches used by historical and current giants of this genre.
You’ll come away with an armful of swinging licks and chord tricks guaranteed to spice up your blues beyond standard minor pentatonic and ‘blues box’ approaches!
