EDWIN CH'NG
Edwin Ch'ng is a virtuoso fingerstyle guitarist and songwriter that incorporates a wide variety of musical influences and styles, from the country of Chet Atkins, to the swing of Django Reinhardt. Edwin has developed a distinct sound, and captured the hearts of many with sincerity and soul.
Born and raised in the beautiful island of Penang in Malaysia, he received his first guitar at age of 11, and began learning to play only by ear. Whilst Edwin has never had any formal musical training, his natural musical ability and intrinsic musical sense has gained him fans around the world. He was and still is greatly influenced by the great Australian fingerstyle maestro - Tommy Emmanuel.
His dream came true when he performed with Tommy back in 2017. Edwin has performed solo concerts and gigs in Malaysia, China and here in Australia, and played live numerous times in Perth’s local radio stations.
He also is part of a panel of judges for the yearly Penang International Guitar Competition held in Malaysia. He has 5 solo fingerstyle guitar albums under his belt. Currently, he performs as a solo artist, and with the gypsy swing band Sino Swing.

TREVOR JALLA
With two decades of live performance on the local and international scene, Trevor Jalla has established himself as one of WA’s finest exponents of roots music, incorporating elements of blues, soul and folk and is equally at home performing intimate club dates as he is festival stages.
A dynamic frontman on vocals/guitar, he has performed at Barcelona Blues Festival, International Blues Challenge/BB King's Club (Memphis), Buddy Guy's Legends (Chicago), East Coast Blues & Roots Festival and Blues at Bridgetown (WA). He has shared stage with the likes of Robben Ford, The Holmes Brothers, Finis Tasby (USA) and Enrico Crivellaro (Italy).
Locally, he is a makes regular appearances at The Perth Blues Club and The Ellington Jazz Club while his "Hourglass" James Taylor Tribute performances continue to garner critical acclaim. As an acoustic soloist, his residencies include The Left Bank, Bar Lafayette, The Windsor and more. His music can be described as a meeting point of Stevie Wonder, James Taylor, Eric Clapton and Ray Charles. However when the mood calls for it, 90s alt-rock and grunge is right up his alley.
As a songwriter, his compositions have been nominated for West Australian Music (WAM) Song of The Year (finalist 2000, 2006, 2007 – World Catagory). Whether playing solo acoustic at a club or fronting a concert lineup, Trevor’s profile and following continues to expand with every performance.
"James Taylor (JT) = class.. nuff’ said; I’ll leave it to you to pick your reason… Trevor Jalla (TJ!) and compatriots simply creamed the point at the Ellington!"
A. Bolt, General Manager, Perth Concert Hall
