KATY STEELE

Katy’s music is rich in colour and texture like her family history.

Born in the most isolated city in the world (Perth, Western Australia) her colourful upbringing helped shape her identity as a creative chameleon.

Brought up around her father, a bluesman from New Zealand and her brother, Luke Steele, the face of Empire of the Sun, the family has seen the many facets of the music business and they all continue to thrive in their own worlds.

At the age of 19 Katy became the lead singer of one of Australia’s biggest bands Little Birdy. This saw her travel all over the world for showcases and touring to build on her fanbase for over 15 years. After moving to Brooklyn, NYC her career continued to develop as she sought out other sides of her identity after playfully moving into production and a more solo approach to her writing. Without a band to bounce off Katy weaved through many directions and took time to find the right sound for this era.

Now based back in Perth after the birth of her first child, this new record, recorded entirely in their home studio, the husband and wife duo have now developed a formulaic approach to modern pop using a playful feel. An upbeat record that dances with the past with throwbacks all whilst feeling thrilling and moving. The first single will be out September 2021.

WIL THOMAS

A dusty blend of folk and rock, with a nod towards the blues, Wil Thomas is a journey man and a storyteller, a laconic troubadour and the kind of artist you yearn to have at your fireside…

With his tales of Bush Rangers and modern day political gangsters, Thomas sings of redemption, love and revolution. Weaving stories from a stormy Celtic coastline all the way to the blood red dirt of the Kimberley. Thomas' quest for the story in song is passionate and single-minded.

With his sophomore album ‘Provenance’ nominated for an Australian music prize and gathering traction internationally, The bed is made for album no 3, as Thomas continues to build on the poetry and swagger of his debut album, ‘Fisherman's Bend.’ Drawing from a melting pot of influences, Thomas epitomises all there is to love about raw, and relevant Australian music…

HELEN TOWNSEND & SHANNON SMITH

Take a pinch of Patsy Cline, add a dash of James Taylor and a generous dollop of Brandi Carlisle and you have Helen Townsend and Shannon Smith Duo. Reminiscent of Welch/Rawlings and Harris/Crowell these two capture your imagination and heart.

Multi-Award WAM nominee and Winner of 2020 WA Country Music Emerging Artist and Single of the Year, Helen’s music is soulful, edgy, and story telling is transfixing.

This compact version of the Helen Townsend & The Wayward Hearts band, the duo engages and entertains the audience with their stories, anecdotes and off the cuff wit, and then woo them with strong original songs and tight weaving harmonies.

The music is soulful, edgy and embraces Americana roots. Helens voice is unique, timeless and her stage presence captivating, whilst Shannon’s rich harmonies, onstage presence and guitar work complete the duo.
