Strings Attached: The West Australian Guitar Festival 2021 presents an evening of world fusion and experimental music performed by WA's own Praashekh Collective and Chip Hazard in the Main Theatre at Margaret River HEART.

Please arrive 15 minutes before the show and be seated before the advertised start time to avoid interrupting the performers and other attendees.

Praashekh Collective

Praashekh Collective play a spirited original blend of jazz and indian classical and folk inspired music. 

Fronted by Praashekh Borkar, a young talented musician from Pune, who, along with his younger brother Abhishek features amongst the finest musicians of the younger generation in India.

Praashekh showed profound enthusiasm for this noble art from a very early age. After having toyed with a mini-Sarod since the age of four, he started taking serious lessons from the age of seven from his father and guru Pt.Shekhar Borkar.

Praashekh, a gold medalist, has secured first place in several music competitions. He has also performed at the prestigious Pune festival, M.T.D.C. festival, Haridas sangeet sammelan and several more.

He was awarded the Dattopant Deshpande trophy at the prestigious Sawai Gandharva festival, Pune in the year 2000.

CHIP HAZARD

CHIP HAZARD is the atmospheric solo project of Perth experimental guitarist and composer Chris Young, known also as a resident synth and guitar slinger with alternative psych rock outfit Psychedelic Porn Crumpets.

Combining intricately layered guitar and string arrangements, as well as selected personal field recordings, Chris attempts to create a soundscape that will transport and orientate the listener into an atmospheric tone painting.
