From Concept to Controller: How to Launch a Game is an online professional development workshop designed to help Western Australian game developers approach game development through a sustainable business lens. The workshop focuses on practical, industry-relevant fundamentals that many teams struggle with when moving from “making a game” to “shipping and selling a product,” including:

project/team/business structure
schedule and budgeting basics
target market definition
risk identification and mitigation
milestones and production planning
the role of publishing and publishing contracts

The session is designed to support:

emerging teams preparing to seek funding, grants, or publishing
established studios tightening commercial and production planning
regional practitioners, due to statewide online accessibility

Following the workshop, 5 practitioners will be selected to have a FREE 1-on-1 with Jon to discuss and workshop their current projects. These sessions will take place in the two weeks following the event at a time that aligns with each person's schedule.
