Wahine Charitable Trust proudly presents Iron Shakti Plus, a collaborative initiative addressing iron deficiency and anaemia in the Indian community in Aotearoa. This campaign builds upon the Anaemia Mukt Bharat strategy by the Government of India and coincides with World Iron Awareness Week (28th Aug to 3rd Sept) 2023.

Iron Shakti Plus aims to create understanding and awareness of this challenge specifically among Indian women and women of sub-continental origin in New Zealand. By joining forces, we can amplify the message and reach of the initiative. While the focus is primarily on Indian women, we recognize that anaemia is a similar issue for women from other sub-continental nations, including Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal.

The grand finale is on Sunday the 3rd September from 5 pm, featuring guest speakers, panel discussions, cultural activities, recognition, and awards. We are honoured to have the Indian High Commissioner NZ, HE Ms. Neeta Bhushan as our Chief Guest for the evening to deliver the key note address.
