Exploring our blue backyard - Long Bay-Okura Marine Reserve

Stay Overnight at the Sir Peter Blake Marine Education and Recreation Centre

March 18th-19th from 10 am Sat to 4 pm Sun (flexible if not able to stay for whole programme)

A whole weekend of water activities utilising the gear at our beachfront facility. An opportunity to explore the Long Bay-Okura Marine Reserve and the regional park. Connect with other women through the evening and into the night with campfire chats and marshmallow roasting. We'll be staying in our seaside accommodation- the MERC bunk rooms, so bring a sleeping bag and a pillow.

Knowledgeable leaders from the Sir Peter Blake Marine Education and Recreation Centre will support participants to take part in adventurous water activities, gain new skills and knowledge of a range of ocean sports and activities. Participate in exciting kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, or sailing adventures - activity choices will be sea-state dependent.

No experience is necessary, the most important thing you need is a passion for the ocean and a can-do attitude. All necessary equipment and gear will be provided for the activities. Meals are not included. Bring along your togs, towel, overnight bag and food.

Find more information about the full 6-month WOW membership which is for females between the ages of 18-24yrs, who are living on the North Shore of Auckland.
