ENTRY CONDITIONS

Minimum entry age is 13 - for fencers UNDER 18 a parent or guardian must endorse the registration agreement.

Fencers under 14 years old must always be accompanied by a guardian.

(in special circumstances, and by agreement between a coach and the DT, students younger than 13 may be allowed to enter our Regional competitions)

By registering for this event, you agree to the following conditions; 

- I am entering the competition at my own risk and agree to abide by the rules of fencing as set out by the FIE, Fencing New Zealand and any directions given by the organisers relating to the running of the tournament.

- I agree to abide by the FeNZ Fencers Code of Conduct and Health & Safety Policy and agree to withdraw from the competition if I am feeling unwell on the day.

Standard registration $30.00 plus booking and cc fees available until September 15th 2026.

Late entry is $50.00 plus booking and cc fees.

Late entries are subject to availability and at the discretion of the DT.  

Last entry 23.55h on Thursday  before the competition (17th September)

RANDOMISED ONE-HIT Epée event - Waikato Swords hope to run a fun ONE-HIT competition after the main events of the day. Entry to this is free if competing in a main event.

EQUIPMENT STANDARDS - GEAR STANDARDS NEW ZEALAND COMPETITIONS
All clothing must be in a good state of repair.

PODIUM PROTOCOL: All Fencers must wear a Club or School Tracksuit Jacket or official school top and either  tracksuit pants or Breeches together with Fencing Socks and Shoes while on the podium. 

Affiliation/Membership

To compete in regional competitions you must be affiliated with Fencing New Zealand for the 2025 year.

FeNZ affiliation fees are additional to the competition entry. 

You can affiliate to Fencing New Zealand via the Sporty Portal  HERE

PLEASE NOTE: You will not be able to view the FeNZ affiliation number issued to you via Sporty, but as DT I can access this number via the FeNZ admin portal . You may enter the  receipt no. (SPxxxx) you received via Sporty when you affiliated for 2025.

EQUIPMENT STANDARDS

All clothing must be in a good state of repair.

Torso: Minimum of 1150N protection. This can be made up of either a 350N Jacket with an 800N plastron or an 800N Jacket and a 350N plastron,

Breeches: 350N (CEN 1)

Masks: All masks must fit well and be in good condition. The elastic strap shall be in good working order with elasticity and able to return to its original position after stretching without any deformation.

Weapons Checking 

We will not be doing a full gear check before this competition BUT referees will be employing Weights and Gauges to check Epée and Foils at the piste.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

FIE Rule t.124: Non-Combativity will be implemented at this competition.

FIE Rule t.122:  Fencers will be required to salute each other by way of acknowledging their opponent and the referee.

Podium Protocol: All Fencers must wear a country, club, regional or FeNZ Jacket and either breeches or tracksuit pants together with Fencing Socks and Shoes while on the podium. No hats, sunglasses or other casual attire are to be worn on the podium during the presentation.

Photography:

Photography is allowed at all Fencing North and National competitions. The competition venue is considered a public space.

Non public spaces with full respect of privacy are the changing rooms and the toilets. No photography is allowed in there.

Please do not change in public spaces. If you do, you waive your right to privacy.

Please note:

Pictures taken at the event can be published on social media, the internet and printed media by Fencing North. This includes spectators and officials.
