Waipā: Climathon Waikato Roadshow
Event description
The Waipā District has long been known as the home of champions. Now, we want to bring climate action to the forefront. On March 29th, we'll be getting together to explore how we can all practice sustainable living, take action for a greener future, and become climate champions.
We'll be joined by Nic Turner - local climate champion and the founder of Mainstream Green (a movement where we are all more mindful of how we consume and the impact we have) will be joining us to explore how she has reduced waste and championed sustainable living in her own life and community.
Entrance is free, snacks are provided, and those of all ages, cultural backgrounds, and genders to join us. It doesn't matter whether you just want to learn more about sustainability, or are already a passionate climate activist ... there's something for everyone to enjoy during this afternoon of inspiration and action.

For 6 days, the Climathon team will be traveling across the Waikato region via e-bike to share our kaupapa of empowering climate action. In each town, we'll host a climate action-themed event, bringing local communities to raise awareness, connect like-minded people, celebrate local climate heroes, connect like-minded people, and equip people with the tools they need to take action for a greener future.
Thanks to Electrify for making this event series possible, and all Climathon Waikato sponsors - Trust Waikato, The University of Waikato, Hamilton City Council, and Waikato Plan.
