Waite Arboretum Guided Tour
Event description
Come take a walk where you will find the natural flow all around you - the flow of air through branches, the flow of birds gliding among the canopies and the flow of scents from blooming trees and scented leaves. And as you walk, feel the slower flow of the seasons in the changing colours, buds ready to burst, vivid blossoms and the quiet dormancy of some of our trees. In the arboretum, nature’s flow always surrounds - and gently captures you. Don’t miss this opportunity!
The Waite Arboretum is one of South Australia’s most important collections of trees. Specimens are planted over 25 hectares of land in Urrbrae, South Australia. The collection comprises of over 2,500 tree specimens growing under natural annual rainfall and demonstrates the performance of a range of Australian and exotic trees to the local environment of Adelaide. The Waite Arboretum is a repository for rare and endangered species playing an important role in the conservation of species that have a very restricted natural distribution. It inspires a deeper appreciation for trees and their vital role in our environment. Friendly volunteer guides will share insights to enrich visitors' connection with the trees around them.
