'Wake' Premiere Screening @ Cinema Nova
Event description
The time has come! Wake is being screened at Cinema Nova!
Wake is a poignant tale of two brothers Syd & Elijah who embark on their annual camping trip together. However, Elijah finds it hard to stay present during the trip with his older brother Syd, as there is an aching weight within himself that he does not want to face - his older brother's battle with terminal cancer.
The night will start off with a small introduction, followed by Sydney based composer Serena Rose (formally trained by Hans Zimmer) to perform the final piece of score live in the cinema room. Following this, Wake will screen on the big screen. After, a short thank you will take place and then to finish the night off, upright double bass player Will Murphy and guitar playing vocalist Sam Nichols known as Höwndog will perform live in the cinema room to close the night.
This is a ticketed event priced at $15 per person. All profits will go to paying for film festival submissions. Film festival submission costs vary anywhere from $30-$150 per submission. Any profits will help immensely for Wake's publicity around the world!
Conveniently, Cinema Nova is on Lygon street with endless dinner spots for before the screening and bars for after the screening.
More information to come through the next couple weeks, see you there!
Lots of love,
from Luca
