The Walford High Performance Academy is a new initiative that will be implemented in 2023. The Academy is aimed to provide resources and develop those students who have or who are identified as having potential to reach elite levels of sport. This program is designed to not only help develop a student’s physical and technical skills, but to also help develop areas in well-being, leadership and character as part of their holistic development at Walford. The High Performance Academy will provide access to resources, tailored workshops and follow up opportunities for students which will be across 5 key areas on offer: Strength and Conditioning, Sports Nutrition, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Leadership and Culture, and Performance Psychology. These areas will be led by leading experts who have/still work in such environments including the South Australian Sports Institute, Adelaide Thunderbirds, SANFL Football Clubs and National Sport Programs.
We invite any student and families interested in the Academy to attend the evening of which further information will be provided about the Academy, how students will be selected, and an introduction to our experts who will lead these areas next year.
