    Event description

Join COTA (Council on the Ageing) Tasmania as we come together with communities around the world to combat elder abuse.

Preventing elder abuse is a critical issue:

    • One in six people experience elder abuse.
    • Psychological abuse, including coercive control, is the most common, followed by other forms such as neglect, financial, physical, and sexual abuse.
    • Abusers are typically someone the older person knows.
    • Only one-third of victims seek help.
    • Ageism is a primary driver of abuse.

    Details on the Day:

Please gather at 12.15pm for a 12.30pm start at Civic Square, Launceston.

The walk makes its way around the CBD ending at Town Hall where there will be light refreshments, and a series of speeches.

Click to register. If you have any questions, please email: admin@cotatas.org.au or phone 6231 3265.
