Walk and Wonder / Lavender Bay & Milsons Point
Description
Join us this Sunday 18 October as we Walk and Wonder our way around Lavender Bay and Milsons Point ...including Wendy Whiteley's Garden!
For a relaxed dose of Sydney’s sparkling harbour, this loop packs a punch with its mix of famous icons and hidden greenery.
Starting from Milsons Point, you’ll head north along Lavender St making our way though Clark Park where we'll take a moment to explore Wendy Whiteley’s Secret Garden. Once a tangle of railway rubbish, it’s now a beautifully landscaped, fern-filled sanctuary that feels miles away from the city buzz. A real highlight!
The route then hugs the foreshore along Lavender Bay towards the heritage-listed Luna Park. Kids (and big kids) will love the old-school amusement park vibe. The path is paved and generally level, making it an ideal option for a leisurely stroll.
Then walking directly beneath the soaring steel girders of the Harbour Bridge, a perspective that really shows off the sheer scale of the "Coathanger.", offering cracking views of the Opera House and the city skyline from Bradfield Park.
We will provide hot and cold drinks
at the end of the walk.
Please bring a KeepCup to reduce waste
and minimise our environmental impact.
We're so looking forward to seeing everyone again, especially those who haven't made it for a little while.
