Event description

Be part of something special:

Walk With Us to help END POLIO this October.

Following the Rotary Zone 8 Conference in Canberra we have planned an afternoon walk on Sunday 30th October 2022.

Tickets are free but please register via Get Tickets button so we know how many are attending.

A 5km (or less) walk on the edge of Lake Burley Griffen (see map below- recently changed - same track return so you can turnaround when you see others walking back if you've done enough.).

Both walks start at 1pm outside the National Convention Centre and end at Commonwealth Park (estimate 2pm -2.15pm). There is a café nearby.

Join the walk for fun and help raise awareness of the Rotary International battle to help make Polio history so that no child ever again suffers paralytic poliomyelitis.

Wear a RED END POLIO shirt. Think of the impact of hundreds of us walking - united in our efforts to end Polio.

Rotary Insurance requires the submission of an Indemnity form for walkers which will be sent to you prior to the walk or can be filled out on the day.

You can also join and donate to the Rotary Walk With Us End Polio campaign.

DONATE here- https://www.rotarywalkwithus.o...

Rotary Walk With Us to End Polio runs across the entire month of October where people can register to walk a set distance over the entire month. Walks can occur any day during the month and count towards the total.

Walkers also fundraise to help support Rotary efforts to eradicate Polio. Find out more at https://www.rotarywalkwithus.o...

100% of funds go to the Rotary End Polio campaign with tax receipts issued from RISSPO. Donations from Rotarians also count towards individual recognition.

Polio is the world’s forgotten disease and something that should have been made history a long time ago. It is a crippling and potentially fatal infectious disease. There is no cure, but there are safe and effective vaccines. The strategy to eradicate polio is therefore based on preventing infection by immunizing every child until transmission stops and the world is polio-free.
