Walking Networking Sydney - Citizen COP 2026
Description
Start the morning walking, connecting and exchanging ideas with people passionate about our planet and working towards a more sustainable future. 🌿
As COP31 unfolds in Antalya, we’ll use the walk as an opportunity to connect global conversations with local perspectives: practical climate action, clean energy, resilient cities, waste reduction, biodiversity, community action and what implementation can look like & looks like closer to home.
Taking place in the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, the meetup brings together professionals, practitioners, researchers, community builders and others working across climate, sustainability, environment and related fields — creating an opportunity to meet people you may not normally cross paths with.
Rather than a formal conference or title-to-title networking, we’ll connect human to human.
We’ll walk, talk and let the conversations flow. There may also be an optional stop at a nearby café (Leaf Dept Cafe) for anyone who wants to continue chatting over breakfast.
You don’t need to be a climate expert or arrive with answers. Come to meet people, share what you know, ask questions, hear different perspectives and perhaps discover something — or someone — that inspires you.

About Citizen COP Australia
Citizen COP Australia is a decentralised, people-powered movement running alongside the global COPs in 2026. Enabled by People For Nature, but intentionally independent and distributed, Citizen COP invites communities, organisations, schools, businesses, artists, and local groups across Australia to host their own events during the COP period. Rather than a single central event, Citizen COP is a nationwide network of conversations, workshops, and actions that bring global climate and nature discussions into local communities. It connects people to science, solutions, and each other, strengthening civic engagement and ensuring citizen voices contribute to Australia’s climate and nature conversations.
