Join Artist Kylie Stevens and Historian Margaret Cook on a guided tour of Ipswich's flood history.

As part of their exhibition Flood Lines, Kylie Stevens and Margaret Cook will lead people on a guided walk and talk about the flood history of Ipswich. The walk will unfold along the Flood Line, an ephemeral public artwork created by Kylie, that marks the path of the flood onto the public lands around Ipswich CBD with landscaping chalk. Flood stories will be shared during the walk by Margaret and the participants.

Participants will meet in the Ipswich Art Gallery foyer.

What to wear: It will not be a challenging walk, but please wear comfortable walking shoes.

What to bring: Participants may want to bring water.

This program is an artist-run event, associated with Ipswich Art Gallery.

Location: Ipswich Art Gallery is located in the heart of the Ipswich CBD. Our public entrance is in d’Arcy Doyle Place, a pedestrian section of Nicholas Street between Brisbane and Limestone Streets.

Parking: The Gallery does not have its own parking, however there is metered on-street parking on Limestone Street, Nicholas Street and Brisbane Street. Street parking is free on the weekends; please check signs for details. Ipswich CBD Parking (beneath Tulmur Place in the Nicholas Street Precinct) offers free parking on weekends. The car park entry is located on Bremer Street which runs parallel to the Bremer River, a short 5-minute walk from the Gallery.

Public Transport: The Gallery is also a short walk from the Ipswich Railway Station and bus stops. If travelling by train, alight at Ipswich Station. The Gallery is a 4-minute walk from the station.
