MoonBelle Productions, with Elevate Co. presents - Walking Songs - a story of songs from te araroa.

Milly Moon’s award winning ‘Walking Songs - a story of songs from te araroa’, is a visceral, joyous and darkly explosive musical storytelling not to be missed.

Once upon a time, she walked the length of Aotearoa New Zealand. To scream at the ocean, to sing at the trees, to curse the supplejack vine. She walked to process grief, to know alone, to remember home. While she walked, she sang.

“My goodness she can sing. There’s a soulful, almost gospel tone to [her] music, performed with minimal accompaniment and little ceremony…it’s mesmerising” - Wee Review UK

From acclaimed Aotearoa writer/vocalist Milly Moon, this intimate story follows a journey on foot along one of the world’s toughest through-hikes, Te Araroa/The Long Pathway.

A testament to the power of the voice, the body and being scared but doing it anyway, Walking Songs celebrates the humanity and connection we find when we accept where we are in life, however transitory, challenging, mundane or joyous, and how this acceptance can be felt so viscerally in the grips of nature.

Seamlessly weaving poetry, prose and song with an unadorned veneration, Moon is an undeniably unique performer, her Walking Songs offering a rare authenticity and connection in universal experience.
