Wallabindi returns to Buzz Bar

We’re delighted to welcome Wallabindi back to The Queanbeyan Hive for another Friday night of soulful music, storytelling and connection.

Wallabindi is the musical project of Monica Moore — an award-winning First Nations (Noongar, Yamatji) and Myanmar artist and long-time member of our Ngunnawal region community.

Her music brings together deeply personal storytelling, folk and soul influences, exploring themes of family, culture, the Stolen Generations, matriarchy and reconciliation. Expect an intimate evening of truth-telling, yarns, beautiful music and a few singalongs.

Monica will be joined by her band, Richard Gorter (guitar), John Coates (bass) and Jonathan Jones (percussion).

Come early, grab a drink and some homemade pizza, find a spot in the garden and settle in for another beautiful night at the Hive.

The Queanbeyan Hive is a vibrant, independent arts and community space in the heart of Queanbeyan, housed in a character-filled 1910 heritage cottage and garden.

The Hive provides a welcoming home for local art, music, performance, workshops, exhibitions and community gatherings, bringing people together in an intimate and creative setting.

The Hive is also home to Create Collaborate Collective Inc. (CCC Inc.), a not-for-profit community organisation supporting local, original contemporary musicians, performers and artists. CCC Inc. hosts the Hive’s Buzz Bar and arts events and collaborates with like-minded groups and individuals to nurture a cooperative, inclusive and thriving local arts scene.

Together, the Hive and CCC Inc. are committed to presenting arts with care and quality, nurturing artists, creating welcoming experiences for audiences, encouraging inclusiveness and, above all, building genuine community through creativity and connection.
