Book in a session time to discuss the draft proposal

Do you have questions about the Wallerawang State Assessed Rezoning Proposal? Come along to our community information session, Thursday 6 August, 4pm - 7pm at the Scanlan room in the Black Gold Motel.

Please note, this is a casual drop in session and will not include a formal presentation.

About the rezoning proposal

The NSW Government is assessing a rezoning proposal for the former Wallerawang power station site that could support up to 3,500 jobs and enable close to 1,260 new homes for the Lithgow region.

Prepared by site owner Greenspot, the State Assessed Rezoning Proposal covers approximately 620 hectares and would transform the former power station into a vibrant lakeside community featuring new homes, employment opportunities, tourism and recreation spaces.

Located just 10km from Lithgow and adjacent to Lake Wallace, the site is now on public exhibition.

Key features of the proposal include:

a new employment precinct with industrial and commercial land
building heights between two and five storeys in designated areas
more than 100 hectares of protected environmental conservation land and open space
a tourism and recreation precinct adjoining Lake Wallace, connected to new walking and cycling trails through surrounding bushland.
