Wamboin Crown Reserve Twilight Tour 2026
Description
On Saturday 27 June, the Friends of Wamboin Crown Reserve are holding a guided walk we are calling the Wamboin Crown Reserve Twilight Tour!
We’ll kick things off at 3:30 pm at the Wamboin Community Hall, where we’ll car pool to the entrance of the Wamboin Crown Reserve. From there, we’ll hike 2 km to the top of Poppet Hill, arriving just in time to catch the sunset at 5:00 pm. As the night falls, we’ll view the evening panorama of Canberra’s city lights before heading back to our cars. On the way back, we’ll take in some of Wamboin’s nightlife— via the eye-shine of possums, wombats, kangaroos and wallabies.
To make the most of the walk, please bring a torch with fresh batteries, warm clothes (it’ll be chilly out there) and sturdy shoes. Just a heads-up: the walk is considered moderate to hard with steep hills and eroded trails, and since it’s nighttime, there’s always a chance someone might take a tumble. If you’re not in good shape, this walk might not be the best fit for you.
We’re keeping the group size to 15, so please sign up early to avoid missing out.
We ask that you please book a separate ticket for each member of your party. And that if you are no longer able to attend, you cancel unwanted registrations. Thanks!
