Event description

The Daisies and the Wangaratta Symphony Orchestra are putting on an experience you'll remember, something not seen before in Wangaratta.

With thanks to the Wangaratta Cathedral, these two local music groups are putting on a night of music in the Holy Trinity Anglican Wangaratta Cathedral accompanied by lighting of the cathedral ceiling to create an electric atmosphere.

The Daisies are a six-piece band from Wangaratta, consisting of vocals, guitar, double bass, piano, percussion and trumpet/flugelhorn who love to play jazz standards and classic tunes in a groovy style. Think Ella Fitzgerald, Miles Davis and Dusty Springfield and you're in the ballpark of an evening with the Daisies.

The Wangaratta Symphony Orchestra is a community music group founded in 2021, made up of local musicians who come from all walks of life. They regularly provide concerts around the North East to a high standard of music, with members coming from far and wide to play some incredible classical and modern music.

Together these two groups are putting on a night of jazz and popular music, with lighting curated to the music program. They'll play music to showcase the incredible talented musicians of the North East and the versatility of the Wangaratta Symphony Orchestra, covering some creative arrangements of jazz standards as well as songs you'll know that make the most of having a jazz band, a symphony orchestra and a pipe organ available to entertain you.

You won't forget this night, in what will be a celebration of what musicians can do in coming together in the shared interest of creativity & musical connection.
