When: June 30th @ 5:00pm
What: We'll be exploring how non-fossil fuel energy can be found in different sources, industries or uses and how we can use them and why we should use them. Following three short presentations Ground Up Brewing will be putting on a related pub quiz with the chance to win some prizes!
Who: We'll have speakers from H.W.Richardsons, New Zealand's largest transport company, that has introduced the first hydrogen-diesel dual-fuel truck in the Southern Hemisphere as well as representatives from Wanaka Solar talking about solar energy. Forest Lodge Orchard, "the world's first 100% electric, zero fossil fuel orchard", based just out of Cromwell will also provide a remote presentation.
Meet your speakers:
Anthony Jones is CEO of HW Richardson Group (HWR), a Southland-based transport company with
operations across New Zealand and Australia. Prior to joining HWR in 2021, Anthony was CEO of LINX Cargo Care Group, an Australian logistics infrastructure and solutions corporation. You can find his full bio here.
Reece Oliver is Group General Manager Transport for HWR. He joined the company in 2013 as Group Financial Controller. In 2021 Reece took on a secondment as Interim CEO of BlueSky Meats, a Southland based specialist lamb processor and exporter. Upon returning to HWR in 2022 Reece took on the role of Group General Manager Transport, overseeing

Dean Dunning trained as an electrician and went on to study renewable energy before founding Wanaka Solar in 2015. He created the company after noticing flawed solar installations across New Zealand.
Gabby Mitton is Wanaka Solar's sole Office Assistant. She provides answers to all general enquiries and installation updates.
Mike Casey founded Forest Lodge Orchard in 2019. His interest in horticulture and renewable technology led to the creation of the 6 hectare, high density cherry orchard in Central Otago that operates without burning any fossil fuels.
