An evening talking about sustainable transport with Simon Telfer from Wanaka Active Transport and with Amanda Robinson from The Lightfoot Initiative. Featuring an interview style, bring your questions along to find out more about what is currently happening around urban and active transport in our community and across the hill.
Meet your speakers:
🚲 Laura Williamson - facilitator
A writer, performer and poet based in Central Otago, Laura Williamson is the editor of the print magazine '1964: mountain culture / aotearoa'. She co-wrote ‘The Blue Moments Project’ song and spoken word cycle, and her book 'The Bike and Beyond: Life on Two Wheels in Aotearoa New Zealand' is out now through the BWB Texts series.
🚲 Simon Telfer - Active Transport Wānaka
Simon has been a vocal advocate for active transport in Wānaka since 2017. Outside of this work Simon is a governance professional, chaired QLDC's Regenerative Recovery Advisory Group (post COVID) and is standing for the Wānaka Upper Clutha Community Board. He can often be seen riding his bike.
🚲 Amanda Robinson - The Lightfoot Initiative, Queenstown
Amanda is a co-founder of Lightfoot. Lightfoot’s purpose is to benefit communities within the Queenstown Lakes District by supporting the development and use of safer, healthier and more sustainable transport networks that encourage widespread mode shift and greater community connection.
