It's been far too long between drinks, and we're so excited to invite you to return to Waratah House this June 14 for the third edition of the annual(ish) concert series: Waratah Nights.

It's a triple-word score; a trifecta! Three incredible acts, and a third lap at the homestead in Annandale. As the cooler months set in, come and warm our home on Johnston Street and spend a night celebrating the joy of community and local music & artistry in the heart of Sydney's Inner-West. Featuring performances from Tesse (Tom Stephens), Betty (Amy Mifsud), and Glyndwr (Glyn Rhys Stamnas), this is a night guaranteed to fill both the mercury dial and your cups (with the rich comfort of new and old friends, and mulling brews).

Doors are at 7, and music will run from 7:30 til' late. Tickets are limited and essential, and all proceeds will go to supporting the work of the artists involved. So come early, stay late; bring a mug, a blanket - bring a mate!

Tesse - @tesseworld

Multidisciplinary artist Tom Stephens creates intimate visual and sonic worlds under the moniker Tesse. His most recent self-produced record, ‘Everything Trying’, was released in 2021 - filled with songs rich with imagery & themes unique to Australian suburbia. While Stephens has previously collaborated with a number of notable artists including Georgia Mulligan & Julia Jacklin, it's his penchant for crafting stories and capturing ordinary beauty that make him such a captivating performer to watch. Stephens paints vivid and immersive portraits of life as it happens around him, and as it simmers away within. We’re excited to welcome Tesse to Waratah House, and we challenge you not to be moved by the nostalgia and heart in Tom's thoughtful observations and melodies.

Betty is the moniker of emerging Sydney-Based singer and multi-instrumental talent Amy Mifsud. The 24-year-old has quickly become a favourite of the Sydney scene, having written with local musicians Barley Passable, Renwick, Kyoshi, Euan Hart, The Land of Ra, & Kobi Dee, as well as having performed with Flight Facilities, Hayden James, Birds of Tokyo & Thandi Phoenix. Hopping off the big stage, and hot off the heels of launching her singles ‘Laying Low’ & ‘Devote’, we’re so excited to welcome Betty to Waratah House. The folk-soul singer has hailed her recent performances as the beginning of a new phase for her music, and she’ll be inviting our audience to sit and deeply listen. Phone use/video taking during the show is discouraged.

'Glin - Doer' (doer rhymes with too)

“I’ve never really known what to make of a name”, says Sydney-based multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter Glyndwr Rhys Stamnas. “I’ve often laboured over so many aspects of making and sharing things with others that feel sincere, conversational and earnest. I’ve also often wrestled with the fact that my name is a little inaccessible given that it’s kind of tough to pronounce, so I’ve shied away from using or referring to it. But when I was thinking about this show, and the names of songs and the project - it just suddenly felt like the best & most natural thing I could do would be to challenge that, and perform under my first name.”

Glyndwr Rhys will be opening this edition of Waratah Nights with a collection of new and old songs that reflect on the many ways that people live & exist together, and speak to the doldrums of somebody making a daily attempt to be counted among them. “These are songs that were written and assembled in borrowed moments spanning multiple continents and modes of life for me over the past 18 months or so, and I’m really excited to share them.”
