Warm Mids (mini) Afternoon - Willebrant + ruffles
Description
As winter comes to a close over Naarm/Melbourne, come and spend a warming afternoon in Merlynston celebrating beautiful, dreaming music. A 90 minute set of music from Willebrant and ruffles. Chairs will be provided, and there will be ample space to lie down or sit on the ground to soak up the music however you feel comfortable. Bring pillows, blankets, eye masks, whatever will make your nests snug and warm for an afternoon of immersive ambient music. This event invites you to immerse yourself in beautiful sounds that reflect the coming of a new spring.
Willebrant is the ambient field-drone project of Naarm/Melbourne based bassist and producer Karl Willebrant. Working with bass guitar, found instruments, synthesisers, and field recordings, Willebrant creates immersive textures and emotive expanses that invite the listener to form vivid visual narratives through sound.
In 2020, Willebrant retreated to the home studio to fully explore his long-standing relationship with ambient music, resulting in a prolific body of releases and collaborations with artists from Europe, North America, India, and Australia.
Solo performances include appearances at MONA (Hobart), Warm Mids Afternoon Ambient Festivals across Melbourne and 2026 Artist in Residence Peninsula Hot Springs, Mornington Peninsula.
