ABOUT OUR #WASTE4WEALTH FUNDRAISER
Toxic chemical pollution is being discharged into the Tukad Badung river in Bali, Indonesia causing damage to the local environment and posing serious health threats to workers and the broader community who are users of the river. Unfortunately, education, economic, and infrastructure barriers keep the Balinese community from solving this. A lack of research on this issue is also failing to attract a collaborative response to this complex issue.
Corethics #waste4wealth project sees the opportunity for the development of affordable circular economy innovation, up-skilling of workers, and a sustainable industry which leads to resilient, financially secure, and climate-resilient communities. We are driven to turn Waste[water] into Wealth generating products for the benefit of our People + Planet.
All proceeds from our fundraiser will help support Phase 2 of our project:
- Collection of scientific data at the site to help inform our solution and pilot needs
- Laboratory analysis of water samples (river and factory) to understand the extent of the issue
- Engage community stakeholders
Corethics takes an evidence-based approach to its international development work and engages community-led research & development Organisation Kopernik to implement our program on the ground in Indonesia.
ABOUT "RIVER BLUE"
We know the impact film can have on our hearts and minds, that's why we've selected to screen River Blue - representing the drive behind our cause. Following international river conservationist, Mark Angelo, RIVER BLUE spans the globe to infiltrate one of the world’s most pollutive industries, fashion. Narrated by clean water supporter Jason Priestley, this groundbreaking documentary examines the destruction of our rivers, its effect on humanity, and the solutions that inspire hope for a sustainable future.
RAFFLE
Go in the draw to win this beautiful Bali Myna drawing by local Sydney artist, Matthew Georgevits (A2). The Bali Myna, aka Bali Starling, is the only endemic bird in Bali and can be found exclusively in Bali Barat National Park. A precious piece to add to your home. Tickets $5 ea. available to those who can and cannot attend our fundraiser.
