Waste Themed Free-Play & Storytime
Event description
Join us in the EcoHub garden for a special school holiday event focused on waste and sustainability!
This relaxed and inclusive session invites you to learn, play, and connect with nature. The event is designed with little ones in mind with activities directed towards ages 0 to 6, but remain inclusive for all to participate and enjoy.
Enjoy storytime, waste sorting, egg carton crafts, and colouring activities, all themed around caring for our planet. Children are encouraged to explore freely in a safe, supportive environment where unstructured nature play sparks imagination and curiosity.
Free-play includes:
Mud kitchen with pots, pans & utensils
Nature books for preschoolers
Musical instruments
Stuffed and plastic animals
Timber steppers, balancing log & dry creek bed
Paper & crayons for drawing
Open grass area for free play
Come along for a fun and nature-filled morning!
This is not a 'drop and leave' event. All people under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible parent/carer. Parents/carers are responsible for the safety and well-being of children at all times.

Playgroup rules apply - Children may play freely with consideration given to the health and safety of the natural environment and others. Parents and caregivers are responsible for the health and safety of their children at all times. Quiet spaces will be available at this event.

One ACROD parking bay is available at front of EcoHub, Rooms are located on multiple levels connected via a ramp and toilets are available within the venue. For specific access requirements please feel free to call or email EcoHub at (08)9364 0191 or ecohub@melville.wa.gov.au
Directions to centre
Please consider using public transportation. There are several bus stops just a 2-minute walk away from EcoHub which service multiple routes.
EcoHub is located at 555 Leach Highway, Winthrop in Piney Lakes Reserve. To reach us, if heading westbound, take the first left after Murdoch Drive on Leach Highway. If coming from the Fremantle area, continue on Leach Highway across Murdoch Drive and use the designated U-turn just after the lights to move to the westbound lanes. Go back through the lights at Murdoch Drive and take the first left. Please park in the signed public carpark.

Recycling hub
Bring the following items in household quantities for recycling at EcoHub when you attend a workshop: household batteries, printer cartridges, light globes, mobile phones and chargers, plastic bread tags, oral care products, plastic bottle lids, metal bottle lids, beer can clips and corks.
