YFC are excited to run a series of Waste Wise Workshops - practical, hands-on sessions designed to help you repurpose, reduce and rethink waste.
This project is supported by funding from the Government of Western Australia and the Waste Authority.
Love your Leftovers
Learn how to create yummy delights with leftovers!
Join us for some fun hands on workshops where we'll explore versatile recipes to help use up leftovers from your fridge! Together, we will prepare and taste an array of recipes including tortillas, pizza and arancini plus some sweet delights. Provided by local community member Ann Gerlach.
Saturday 28 June 12-3pm - includes how to make tortilla's to create your own quesadillas / tortilla chips plus salsa and choc chip biscuits
Thursday 3 July 11-2pm - includes how to make bhaji fritters and risotto plus a dessert. These recipes will all be gluten free.
Wednesday 16 July 10-1pm - make your own pizza base and tomato sauce plus weetbix bliss balls. This workshop is during school holidays, children 12-14 years can attend with an adult, over 15 years can attend on their own.
Saturday 2 August 9-12pm - make your own arancini balls and gnocchi with sauce plus a dessert.
These workshops cannot accommodate food allergies, but we'll share tips for modifying the recipes at home. The workshop on the 3 July will provide recipes that are gluten free.
Please Note - Children over 12 years may attend if accompanied by an adult. Participants attending with a companion card are requested to book one ticket and email info@yangebupfamilycentre.org so we can reserve a place.
