Waste Wise Workshops - Textiles
Event description
YFC are excited to run a series of Waste Wise Workshops - practical, hands-on sessions designed to help you repurpose, reduce and rethink waste.
This project is supported by funding from the Government of Western Australia and the Waste Authority.
Weaving Workshop
The art of weaving is explored in this class where you can create your own loom to keep, then weave your own wall feature or placemats using re-purposed textiles.
We are running two sessions (the workshop is repeated) please choose the session that suits you.
Basket Coiling Workshop
Explore how to up-cycle and re-purpose textiles, yarns, and natural fibres including raffia, wool, sisal, jute into baskets using different Indian traditional inspired & contemporary weaving techniques.
Please Note - Children over 12 years may attend if accompanied by an adult. Participants attending with a companion card are requested to book one ticket and email info@yangebupfamilycentre.org so we can reserve a place.
