YFC are excited to run a series of Waste Wise Workshops - practical, hands-on sessions designed to help you repurpose, reduce and rethink waste.
Saturday 22 March - Morning Workshop
Styling Masterclass & Waste Wise Tips
Our launch event will kick-off in the morning with a Wardrobe Masterclass led by sustainable fashion expert Hazel Law. Discover how to style clothing you already own, buy less, have higher wardrobe satisfaction and be more intentional with your purchases
We will also share ideas about reducing food waste and will enjoy a delicious morning tea made from repurposed ingredients.
Saturday 22 March - Afternoon Workshop
Fermentation Workshop
Learn the basics of fermentation, discover how fermented foods benefit gut health and gain practical tips to integrate ferments into your diet. Plus, you'll have the opportunity to get hands-on making your own ferments to take home.
Monday 24 March - Afternoon Workshop
Basket Coiling
Explore how to up-cycle and re-purpose textiles, yarns, sari silk ribbon, natural fibres including raffia, wool, sisal and jute into baskets using different Indian traditional inspired & contemporary weaving techniques.
This project is supported by funding from the Government of Western Australia and the Waste Authority.
Please Note - Children over 12 years may attend if accompanied by an adult. Participants attending with a companion card are requested to book one ticket and email info@yangebupfamilycentre.org so we can reserve a place.
