Watercolour Botanicals and Illustration with Caro
Event description
Come and enjoy the wonderful world of watercolour painting and illustrating!
Whether you're a total beginner or haven't picked up pencils and brushes in a while, watercolour is a most engaging art medium. Fall in love with the brush strokes, creating your own colours, and lose yourself in the shapes and textures of nature and the gum leaf.
As well as a fun class learning the ins and outs of watercolour painting, this class will remind you to notice your surroundings and the beauty of everyday nature.
All materials provided. This is a beginner friendly class!
Feel free to collect some fallen gumleaves to reproduce or use the examples Caro has available in the class.
What will we cover?
This beginner’s watercolour class will cover:
- Basic botanic drawing and watercolour skills
- Techniques using watercolours and/or coloured pencils
- Understanding colour theory and colour mixing
- Skills of observation and appreciation of details

Who will be teaching?
Caro (she/her) is a practicing artist whose current focus of
investigation is native Australian Flora. Coming from a family of plant
scientists,
she developed an early appreciation for the intricacy of plants,
ecosystems and the overlaps between art and science.
She holds a
bachelor of Fine Arts and a Masters of Art in Public Space and is
passionate about art being for everyone.She believes that play,
exploration and curiosity are the most important parts of creativity and
is so excited to share these passions with you.
