Behind the Magic: WaterFire Walking Tour

Experience the magic of WaterFire like never before with a behind-the-scenes walking tour! Led by a long-time WaterFire volunteer, this tour covers the remarkable origin story, artistry, and hidden gems of Providence's most cherished event. Your guide will bring you through the heart of the city, walking alongside the path of the braziers that will be lit just a few short hours later. You will also receive a certificate to add a wish to the Starry, Starry Night installation during the lighting.
On November 4 the tour will begin at 10:00 am. The tour starts at 129 Dyer St in Providence and ends at the Basin. Free parking will be made available to you in a nearby lot for the duration of the tour (information will be sent after booking).
Like all WaterFire lightings, this tour is rain or shine! Please wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather. The tour route is about half a mile and we take a pretty leisurely pace. Please note that the tour route does include some uneven walkways, cobblestone sidewalks, and a couple of stairs.
This will be the last day of Behind the Magic tours in the 2023 season. Space is limited so reserve your spot now! Tickets are $25 and include free parking and a Starry, Starry Night wish. We cannot issue refunds for tickets bought in error. Everything we do is made possible by your support; thank you for your help keeping the fires burning!
