Sat, 7 Nov, 9am - 11am AEDT

Description

Join us on Bargo River to learn about our local waterways and biodiversity as we marry Indigenous knowledge and modern science.

Come down and listen as we talk about Wollondilly’s unique ecology around our waterways – including our native Platypus, Freshwater Mussels, Rakali (Water Rat), Macquarie Perch, the native plants that grow there and much more.

We'll also discuss practical ways to support healthy local waterways. Wollondilly's waterways are teaming with life and worth protecting.

Spaces are limited. Please register to secure your spot.

Participants will have to bring water, comfortable shoes, hat and sunscreen. There will be options to jump into the shallows and use some scoop nets so if you are keen please bring a towel and appropriate clothing.

There will be a short walk around the creek banks and a moderate slope top climb down.

Meet on the river bank next to the Car Park on the corner of Charlies Point Rd and Rockford Rd. Travelling from Tahmoor, cross Rockford Road Bridge and take the first right onto Charlies Point Road. After approximately 30 metres, turn right into Potholes Car Park. We will be on the sandbank on the waters edge about 50m upstream from the bridge.

Anyone under 18 will needs to be accompanied by an adult.

Wollondilly Shire Council is grateful for the opportunity to run these workshops funded by the Cumberland Plain Conservation Plan Caring for Country Council Grants Program.
