Event description

Join us for an inspiring panel discussion on women's surfing hosted by the UTS Business School. This event brings together industry experts, academic researchers, and passionate surfers to shape the future of women's surfing. Our panellists will share insights on empowering the next generation of women surfers.

Dr Ece Kaya (UTS Business School) and Dr Leila Khanjaninejad (UTS Transdisciplinary School) will be joined by the guest speakers, including:

  • Tyler Wright: Australian Surfing royalty, 2x World Champion and Olympian
  • Rebecca Olive: Vice Chancellor's Senior Research Fellow in the School of Global, Urban and Social Studies at RMIT University
  • Ashika Kanhai: Senior lawyer who leads the Climate Justice Legal Project & Chair of the Surf Coast Women's Boardriders Club

Our discussion will explore exciting opportunities within the surfing community, focusing on three key areas:

  1. Creating more inclusive line-ups
  2. Expanding competitive opportunities for women
  3. Fostering a supportive culture that encourages women's participation in surfing

Don't miss this opportunity to be part of the wave of change!

Refreshments will be served.
