WAYJO Wednesday Night Orchestra, with special guests Kate Pass & the Kohesia Ensemble

Kate Pass has forged a musical style and genre unto itself.

Blending jazz and Persian musical influences, Kate has been able to create something new, refreshing and very exciting.

WAYJO are proud to have commissioned Kate (WAYJO member 2009/10 & 2014), and now work to expand those ideas for the WNO.

We welcome Kate and Kohesia, a unique ensemble drawing upon aspects of the Persian Dastgah system and elements of the Jazz tradition.

Enjoy this very special cross-cultural collaboration in one night not to be missed.

WAYJO is Australia’s leading youth jazz orchestra and one of the country’s cultural gems. It provides a unique experience for jazz musicians aged 14 to 25 who are the absolute cream of young jazz players from Western Australia and beyond. Competition for places is fierce. Those who make it are amongst the nations best young players and are rewarded with career-defining experiences including touring, training, recording and performing with world-class guest artists.
